Mythical Creature: STORMWALKER no.1

I often channeled the energy of the Buffalo in my darkest hours. The buffalo, in the face of an approaching storm, doesn’t run away—it turns and walks directly into it.

There’s an ancient wisdom in that act, a resilience and bravery that resonates deeply with me. This powerful choice to face the storm rather than flee from it reflects the warrior energy I’ve needed in my own journey.

When life threw its biggest challenges my way I had no choice but to be immersed in discomfort, fear, and uncertainty. I had to lean in. To face it all head-on. That’s when the buffalo became a guiding force for me, a reminder of strength and courage through adversity.

Through my art, I strive to embody that same resilience, channeling nature’s strength and the power to transform even the darkest moments into something beautiful.

This piece features a gifted bison skull from local North Peace ranchers, real preserved mushroom cluster, Poppy pod eyes, Salal from Haida Gwaii, Goldenrod, Jasmin, Indian Paintbrush, and 3-d sculptured elements of Yarrow.

All botanicals used are wild harvested (with exception of my Jasmin blooms) and hand-preserved. Skull and botanicals originating from Haida Gwaii, the Nass Valley, and North Peace regions of British Columbia.
